I've never had a legit pair of classic Crocs, but I've heard they're great.
I would not want the kind with any lining. I think the biggest selling point of Crocs is that they are easily washable.

Crocs Kadee II flip flops are my fucking drug.
Months back I discovered they were available in cherry print... https://imgur.com/a/rkpIqEl I fell madly fucking in love. So I scored myself some "cherry Crocs" and I guess I've been wearing them since like June. There are reasons I don't wear closed toed shoes, and I've been salty over it, believe me... You all know boots are my first love. Alas, sometimes, we just gotta let it go. I just thank God that Crocs flip flops are so damn fucking high quality, so well made, literally... Other than the thong, there's nothing that can really break on them and I am compelled to believe they could last forever. For real. But it's my goal to wear this pair until they're "worn out"... Just to see what it really takes to wear out a pair of Crocs flip flops. My concern with these was that the cherry print would wear off... And indeed on the areas where my feet touch the print the most, they have faded. The only parts where the print has worn off entirely are the little 'dots' that stick up along the footbed on all the Crocs flip flops, not just this kind. Other than that, I think they still look pretty good and they've lasted far better than I expected them to. I LIVE in these flip flops. I really do. I even shower in them. Why? Because they need to be washed just like I do! Typically I will wash my feet (and the flip flops) once or twice a day, but when I shower, I go ahead and give 'em the full treatment. I love my Crocs flip flops and they are the best open toed shoes in the world.

As far as being stylish? LOL man who gives a shit?!
Like, believe me... I ain't wearing this shit for no reason. I looked long and hard for a damn shoe that I could survive in. And TBH... Comfort and the ability to tolerate your life is more important than style. That said, I think they're fine stylistically, I have no issue with them whatsoever. I've had a few uptight Virgos talk smack about 'em, but other than that, most people keep their mouths shut!

I think the idea of a shoe you can't wash is...
Kiiind of pure insanity. I get it, that covers like 90% of shoes, you can't really wash those fuckers can you? Not REALLY. The washability of Crocs (in general, besides the lined ones) is one of their strongest benefits. If you can't wash it (easily) and have it dry within minutes... Then I think that's a recipe for disaster. God bless Crocs, and let's make this last forever...

Until something breaks on 'em, I'd say that "wearing out" a pair of Crocs flip flops just isn't really possible... But they DO show signs of wear. The pair I've been wearing since June look damn near as worn as the first pair I ever got in 2016. It makes sense because I've danced on this pair in a hard and extreme way, and I've showered with them and washed them otherwise, countless times. I love them though, and I consider the cherry print flip flop to be my signature Crocs. I would wear other shoes, but it's a long story as to why it doesn't really work out for me to do that. I just thank God for Crocs and how comfortable they are, and I've never really had any accidents walking in them... Never even had any problems when I was dancing in them hardcore and they got sweaty. I'd take breaks to dry them off and then just keep on going. They'd be all warmed up by my body heat, it was crazy. I have had A LOT of fun in this pair and I'll keep wearing them, but I do have a couple new backup pairs of the same style and it's not out of the realm of reason that I'd try a new pair on and see if there are any obvious comfort differences. I don't really expect for there to be any differences as far as comfort, and I think this is my best pair of Crocs flip flops so far just because they are so worn in to the shape of my foot. I am obsessed with Crocs (Kadee II) flip flops.

The cherry print itself has actually held up surprisingly well, but the wear shows in the surface of the shoe with wrinkles all over it, and with wrinkles in the heel. And some wearing down on the bottom of the shoe.

Looks like Crocs is gonna ruin their product trying to be more "sustainable"... I knew there was a reason for those backup pairs of cherry Crocs I randomly ordered.

During the time since they've supposedly changed their materials, I did land a couple pairs of CLASSIC Crocs... https://www.amazon.com/Crocs-Classic-Gra...B07JN5SQSQ And they're fucking amazing. I find that at least for me, it's necessary to wear socks with them in order to keep my foot from sliding to the end. I've asked around and apparently other people don't have that problem, but I do. They fit perfectly with socks on (even if I'm wearing like 2 pairs of socks) but WITHOUT the socks, you'd think they were "too small" because of the way your foot slides to the end. So yeah, socks are necessary with classic Crocs. Is it stylish? Man FUCK no. Is it RIDICULOUSLY COMFORTABLE!? Oh my God hell YES IT IS. I can pretty much stand up ALL DAY and my feet don't get sore or tired. They stay on just fine, those fuckers are sturdy. I don't even use the thingy that goes over your heel, but it's a nice option to have. Crocs are by far the most comfortable shoes EVER invented. Again, the great thing about them is that you can wash them and dry them immediately. I'd never mess with the lined Crocs or any style that has any other type of material on it which doesn't wipe dry immediately. What I find surprising about these classic style Crocs is that they actually keep your feet pretty warm, which is GREAT for me. You'd think with all the holes in 'em they wouldn't be warm at all, but somehow they are. Now I gotta clarify that there are a few styles of Crocs that I probably wouldn't go for. These ones specifically... https://www.amazon.com/Crocs-Bistro-Grap...B085RVJ4D5 No holes in 'em. I MIGHT try them sometime, but probably not. The Crocband style?? https://www.amazon.com/Crocs-Unisex-Croc...B002JCSSSS Just too ugly, I'm sorry. I think they're supposed to be the "preppy" Crocs, but in my opinion they look even worse than the classic. The Baya style?? https://www.amazon.com/crocs-Unisex-Baya...B001V83LRY Absolute no-go. I'd avoid that one harder than the one with no holes. Apparently people have them break along the area of the "Crocs" cutout on the side. You almost never hear of Crocs breaking in the first place, so for me, this is a sign to avoid that specific style. Listen, there comes a time in life when you start to value comfort over everything else... That's when it's time for Crocs.

Oh but yeah, my point was, at least at this juncture, I don't notice any difference in the quality of the shoes since their supposed material change.
It really seems quite the same to me so far. It would take some hardcore wear over the course of several months for me to really decide if I think the quality is still as good though.

I don't know what kind of Crocs mine are. They're a ridiculously loud neon lime color.
04-30-2023, 12:41 PM
If you want a pair of Crocs, I recommend checking over the color selection frequently as they will often be discounted sometimes half off depending on the color.
IMO, a super loud color that is half the price of whatever color you'd prefer is fucking worth it, just get 'em. And I have some advice to Crocs for the future...

Crocs needs to understand that people COLLECT Crocs.
They don't have to downgrade the material in hopes that the shoes will wear down faster and people will have to buy more. They need to focus on releasing their best sellers in MORE COLORS with more FUN PATTERNS on them. That's where the $$$ is. People who get addicted to Crocs have like 10 pairs of them and they'll keep buying more if some new cute shit comes out. Keep the quality and just deliver on the colors/designs.

All of the pairs I saw at Shoe Carnival were the same price. I was bent on having the lime ones anyway, so I made it a point to only look for those in my size.
The sizes are misleading. The ones in my size were so big, they wouldn't stay on. I got a size and a half smaller than my regular shoe size. They fit perfectly with no socks. When my feet get sweaty and slide forward, I just slide them right on back. They appear to be molded in one piece, except for the strap. No fabric insoles or separate piece of tread glued to the bottom. They have spiky things in the insole that were uncomfortable when I wore them out of the store, but I've got used to them and don't even notice them now. I've literally worn the Crocs and no other shoes all day everyday since I bought them. I got a new pair of Skechers at the same time, and have only worn them once. The tread seems to be holding up nicely. Very little wear so far, and, as I said, I've worn them everywhere. I do need to wash them though. They're getting pretty grubby. Meh. |
