In which we gather extant examples of cringeworthy misspellings together in one thread. Let the nitpickery begin!
alright
"All right" as a contraction. Probably coined by a rock music songwriter in the 60s or 70s. Are you a rock star? No? Then spell it right.
nevermind
"Never mind" as a contraction. Originally the intentionally ironic title of a Nirvana album, it's just plain sad when you unironically spell it that way.
woah
A misspelling of "whoa" commonly found in Zoomer video titles. I know you kids don't read books, but damn, there are several dictionaries online.

I'm guilty of everything besides, "Woah!"
I just basically never use the term in general.
I prefer "Wow!"
My biggest pet peeve in this regard isn't really a misspelling per se, it's just...
Agh...
It HATE IT when people say "Women" (plural) when they're referring to ONE WOMAN.
It's WOMAN.
That's SINGULAR.
Women is plural, as in MORE THAN ONE.
It just makes people sound dumb, and if somebody makes that error, I am forever gonna hold it against them.
Disturbingly enough, one time I actually made that mistake, I actually typed "women" when I meant "woman" on a thread here...
I found the error a long time after the post was made and I just couldn't believe myself.

I think there's a difference between the occasional one-off spelling mistake and consistently spelling a word incorrectly because you don't know how to spell it and can't be bothered to look things up. It's the latter case that I'm referring to here.
Another one I hate is when "then" is used where "than" is meant. They actually harped on this one in public school English classes back in the day, but it still hasn't been eradicated. Is education ultimately futile for some? If I remember correctly, it's mainly used in a particular region of the U.S., possibly Pennsylvania. It certainly wasn't used where I went to school.

OMG that one fucking grates on me.
It just doesn't matter how much I WANTED to like the person I see making these kinda grammatical errors...
My desire/interest plummets.

I once misspelled "tongs" as "tongues" several times in a chat, and didn't catch the mistake myself. The other party pointed it out.

I'm gonna look past that and choose to love you anyway.

I cherish your determination to love me despite my many obvious flaws.

Ironically, I now find myself wishing I'd spelt it "compleat" in the thread title.
