Now short videos open up in a whole new total trash 'Instagram' and 'TikTok' style format with no slider control that allows you to rewind and no volume slider control...
It is pure and utter garbage and they should change it back immediately.
It looks terrible, functions like shit, and is a fucking scourge to their website.
Hands down the worst formatting choice they've ever made.

I am exact the same if it says shorts I can sometimes find the actual video but if I can't click X.
Whoever invented this shit is a total cunt and I think I know who it is they are Egyptians that live in Arizona.
Remember how much fun YT used to be? It was my favorite website ever. I guess it still is, but it's a shadow of its former self.

Firefox has a script to try to make it normal again but its still not normal.

What I'm unclear on at this juncture is whether or not it's optional.
Like is there something you select when you upload to say it should appear as a "Short", or is any video under 1 minute automatically put into the "Shorts" category/displayed under the atrocious new format.

i've actually been working on cropping my solar entity captures and animating them in portrait to be uploaded for youtube shorts or tiktok. it'll be like reverse shitposting. need some good MKULTRA tones for the audio tho.

It just seems like an attempt for YouTube to compete with TikTok/Instagram, and there's just no reason for it.
I stick with YouTube because they're NOT TikTok/IG. I don't want that STUPID mobile format creeping into a platform that is better BECAUSE it doesn't operate with those formats.
