0:08 awww, that's so sweet. That's like some shit I would write.

0:24 wow he looks amazing in black and white.

0:32 whoa okay, so this is kind of like a legit interview and even sort of a documentary situation. This is so cool man I had no idea this was coming out.

0:36 well I am obviously gonna have to turn on the captions because I can't understand a single fucking word this guy is saying.

0:50 whatever, Nashville's Third Man location is the best location of all the Third Man locations in the world. It's in fucking Nashville. Are you kidding me? You can lie to yourselves all day and night but get fucking real at least a little bit.

1:08 yeah you can tell by the way Jack talks about Third Man Nashville that he really understands it's totally fucking magical and there's really not a better location that tops THAT specific aspect of it. I think it's funny how he says he didn't expect anyone would come, save a few record collectors. But of course, it ended up being very popular at least in a niche way. All kinds of folks ended up visiting. I live pretty close to that area and I've THOUGHT about going for years but lol... AGH. I love Jack White. I do. I've gone to Nashville for Billy Corgan's events. But I still haven't gone there for Jack. I really should have though, cuz I'm sure he won't hang around there forever.

1:30 so first of all... I love this interviewer guy's shirt and I fucking want it so fucking give it to me. Secondly, it's so nice to see Jack looking so healthy and so good at nearly 50. I'm proud of him for having longevity and for taking care of his physical state.

1:40 and as far as the blue hair goes, hey listen. Listeeennnn. I shouldn't have talked smack. I shouldn't have. It was rude of me. Jack looks perfectly normal and non-gay with that blue hair. He still sparks my desire, even with the blue hair so it's all good. And hey, I mean... you know what, I may even be able to say at some point that I kind of maybe like it ever so slightly.

I'm proud of Jack and what he's done as a rockstar, post-mad rush days. He did something I've never heard of any other rockstar motherfucker doing. Actually, oddly enough... Billy Corgan DID do something similar to this. I hesitate to even call Billy a "rockstar" though. Jack, I can call a rockstar more comfortably than I can call Billy one. To me, Billy is like... my uncle or something. But with Jack, it's different, I dunno, I can see him more as a rockstar and I'm comfortable calling him by that label.

Billy Corgan made a store, a couple times now actually. He's got an eatery/tea shop, and it's got other stuff in it I'm sure. It also hosts music. So they did something really quite similar in a lot of ways.

1:58 he starts addressing the TMR London location. You know how I feel about it... not a fan. I feel like it was an idea he came up with pre-2020 CV madness, and he went through with it against all odds when it probably should have been delayed at the least, and maybe even shelved.

2:02 he says it got designed over FaceTime. Wow. Holy shit. LOL. But it seems like as soon as he could get double vaxxed and triple boosted, he took his happy ass over to London to deal with it.

2:28 wow he says he STILLLLLLLL doesn't have a phone. Rofl. Awwww. Jack is special. What a sweetheart. For real. Like I partly just... I dunno, I see this permanent little boy in him. Like it's not how it usually is where I can see it transposed over the grown man, but I do know it's in there and really I think he lives his life with it as a bellwether and that may be why I can't actually see it transposed over him.

3:20 you know what, I really appreciate that the interviewer even ASKED this question. It's pretty damn remarkable. See that's what I love about "rockstars" like Jack and Billy. They're both very down to earth people, and it's like they exist in this sphere where they DIDN'T let fame wall them off from the world, they didn't let the notoriety get to them and make it like they might as well be living on Mars. In a lot of ways, they've kept it real.

3:45 you know, the thing is... that would be a REALLY hard question to answer. And I think Jack is answering it really well, from the heart. Cuz at least in his situation (and in Billy's), they ended up doing this BECAUSE they got famous (money). Had it not been for that, it wouldn't have been possible... or perhaps it would have ultimately still happened, but SOME OTHER WAY.

He's right... you know, a lot of the greatest things in life are random, they happen without us even REALLY "trying". But what I would add to this is the element of PASSION. Billy, Jack, and many other creators who ended up able to build stores and whatever... they had PASSION. They had a DRIVING FORCE within them that they tirelessly expressed, day and night, for a very long time. It wasn't even necessarily something they really WANTED to do. They HAD to do it. They HAD to get it out. They had to.

And from that momentum and focus and striving... they ended up in the positions they're in. I would say the answer to this question is PASSION... focus, and expression. Sustained.

3:50 see, he started saying what I just typed above. I pause on a timestamp and then commentate, then I resume watching the video. So, I hit on the core element behind this, and Jack is now affirming... it's passion, but it's the kind of passion you couldn't get away from if you wanted to, because it's INSIDE you. It HAS to come out.

3:57 exactly. Fuck man, Jack should do more talks like this because it's nice to see him flow from the heart/intellect. I mean, anyone who knows a lot about Jack and the Stripes knows that they basically never held any interviews where they didn't already know the questions. ESPECIALLY Jack. Historically he never lets interviews be free flow. And I'm not saying this one is... maybe he knew all the questions beforehand and thought about it first. Regardless, it doesn't FEEL that way. It's not awkward or weird... it FLOWS with sincerity, so regardless, his interview game has totally improved.

4:09 he's totally fucking gorgeous man. Like... he even has a SLIGHT widow's peak, which is the hottest thing ever. He truly has an AMAZING hairline.

4:27 that's VERY interesting about the "little room"...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t6RRsU-P_kk

I remember hearing about this years ago, but I had forgotten those details. Remarkable. What a profound story and example of the unfolding of life and the tapestry of existence.

6:04 wow, so interesting. It took until like 2010 for him to know the The White Stripes really was done. That must have been hard to come to terms with. Meg was the magic of the Stripes. Jack has made pretty good music since, but the issue is that it's just... regular. Even though it doesn't sound like anyone else's... it's just regular. It doesn't have the magic spark that propels it in front of the global eye. It was Meg's essence that made that shit fly. I am not saying Jack isn't one of the greatest guitarists of all time, he clearly fucking is. That's not debatable or up for dispute on any level. Jack walks in magic, it's in his soul. But the music? Meg... she was the one with the true magic that brought us into the world of The White Stripes, and brought The White Stripes to the world.

Apparently she had a lot of anxiety about being on stage anymore and she was just done with it all. Who knows what her deep reasons really were. But she's retired and absolutely disappeared. I'm glad she was able to do that. I hope she's happy.

And I think another important thing to note about Jack's guitar mastery is the fact that a lot of excellent guitarists can go through the motions and not really have anything to lend to the project on a deeper level. Some great guitarists out there are just hired to play some music and that's about as far as it goes. Jack has the next level of artistry in guitar. I'm not trying to downplay how great he is. I'm just saying, there's a difference between what he's done solo, and The White Stripes. And that difference is Meg.

8:26 look at Jack's eyes light up when they're talking about this new "Fear Of The Dawn" album and the fact that he played (almost) all the instruments on the album. Well in my estimation, that probably means it's pretty good. What I didn't really dig about his solo work up til this point was all the other people involved in it.

11:00 HAH, this interviewer guy is GREAT... there couldn't have been a better person in the world to conduct this interview/docu.

11:50 okay well... the interviewer is essentially trying to say (in a VERY roundabout way) what he thinks the album sounds like. And I get the gist that it sounds like exactly what it is. Somebody (Jack) who was against the tech for so long, finally stepping into the tech and almost making a caricaturized version of his former bias. So this tells me that... yeeeeah, I may not like this new album after all. LOL. I dunno, I haven't heard any of the songs yet, I will have to judge that later. But I was hoping that it WASN'T Jack going off the deep end with tech and showing that he's basically a noob at it, because he is. I will hand it to Jack though, at least he's trying to learn and evolve... that's good. It'll add length to his life.

12:08 well I mean... it takes a solid decade to learn the digital side of things. So if Jack is just now (as in the last like 6 years) trying to step into this digital field, he's still got a long way to go. It's really only in the last like 4 years that he's really been trying the tech side of things out. So he's got years still before he truly understands the digital/tech aspect. He's definitely approaching things right though, I mean remember, the guy doesn't even have a fucking phone. The shit that he's doing is gonna be different from what ANYONE else has done in the music sphere. Not saying that means it's gonna be good... lol. But it's gonna be different.

12:38 honestly, this is good to hear. I like this experimental aspect of things. Fact is, Jack can do whatever the fuck he wants. He ALREADY achieved absolute total success... in fact, he did that like 20 years ago. Let's be real. It's not like he's got anything to PROVE. Really, I would hope that he's simply enjoying himself. These days, that's all I'd say I want out of him. Because musically, I've already gotten everything I'd ever want out of Jack.

12:58 the way the interviewer shifts around here in his seat shows me a lot. I commend this guy, because he's really NOT even trying to hide his feelings or opinions about what this new album sounds like. It's actually really impressive... this entire interview and what sparked it is very impressive. I'm glad Jack agreed to this. My take is that this interview was SOUGHT OUT and took place BECAUSE it seems like musically, Jack's just completely lost his mind. Now, he HASN'T. But it maaaaayyyybe kinda SEEMS like he has. Let's not ignore the signs. He's dyeing his hair some weird cockamamie color. That's always an indicator that you're TRYING to get something OUT of yourself, you're TRYING to make the outside world UNDERSTAND SOMETHING about you and your expression. And it's not necessarily been working, so you're trying to crank up the output. Jack's got something he needs to express and he's TRYING really hard to make people understand something.

13:10 see, I had it paused while I was commentating before I even heard him start saying this... he even uses the word "crazy", lol. I love it. I love the fact that it's so obvious that Jack has gone 100% off the reservation so much that they literally brought this guy in to try and compassionately and damn near covertly confront just what in the absolute fuck is going on here. Jack's early solo work was VERY MUCH like the comedic story of "Dewey Cox/Walk Hard" (which Jack ironically had a cameo in). The "Army of Didgeridoos" scene exemplifies exactly what happened with Jack's solo work... the 100 different musicians he brought in doing all kinds of crazy shit and bringing stuff to the table that I personally found totally off-putting just because they're NOT JACK WHITE SO WHY THE FUCK ARE THEY ON THE RECORD/STAGE?? Here's the Walk Hard scene that I'm talking about... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f_1mxNtLCK0

13:50 but Jack can do this... he can do this CRAZY shit because he's Jack fucking White. Because he's one of the greatest guitarists of all time. Because he was in one of the most popular bands of all time. Because he's accomplished what he has, and because he's who he is. No one's gonna say no to him. No musical artist from ANY genre is gonna be like, "Actually, no, Jack. Like, no." NOBODY is gonna say that. He's getting to do whatever the hell he wants because frankly, he's just WELL AND BEYOND completely earned it with his musical history.

22:57 re: mastering, God I wish YouTubers understood this "uniform volume" concept. Holy shit. Even mega popular YouTubers don't get it, when they add clips in to their videos it's always a volume fucking horrorshow.

27:30 really interesting take on the industry that Jack learned from experiencing all sides.

30:38 you can see how humble Jack is just by the look on his face when the interviewer is addressing this truth. He knows better than to be a haughty asshole. That's not how he got to where he is today. That's why there's basically no cap on him.

30:45 you can tell that Jack has aged, but he looks absolutely gorgeous. He is totally natural from what I can tell, and I think the fact that he looks this amazing at nearly 50 is a testament to his inner goodness. I don't think Jack is a bad fella like a lot of famous folks are. The same can be seen in Billy Corgan as well. Billy's always been beautiful, but in a lot of ways at his age of 55, he looks better than he ever has in his entire life. That doesn't happen to bad people. They end up looking botched with plastic surgery and procedures that seek to desperately cling on to some facet of youth. Or they just end up looking like shit, because that's what they are inside. I dunno, it may sound harsh, but it's what I truly believe.

37:15 roflmao, see this is the part that makes me believe the anonymous groupie's story about how Jack gave her merch after they had sex, lmfaooo. I really like him.

37:34 dude, Jack's mom is older than my mom's mom... WTF!!!!!!

41:50 it's VERY interesting to hear the history of the White Stripes' beginnings. It makes me question the whole "crossroads agreement"/illuminati narrative.

42:48 "mysteriously burned down" lmao, yeah doesn't it always. I think it's pretty obvious at this point that one of America's local governments' main method of operations is to burn down historical properties they just don't wanna deal with anymore, that they don't think can be profitable anymore, etc. Great way to destroy history, you fucking morons.

44:08 oh wow, that badass popped collar though. I love a nice, stiff, poppable collar.

44:21 OMG AWWWW look, it's little Meg!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

45:15 that's really cool, I appreciate this interview that explains more about Jack's furniture art pieces, provides some great insight into why he does what he does. VERY valuable. Brilliant uniqueness, but very relatable to other artists too.

52:33 amen, props to Jack for employing people at ALL his locations. Apart from his unbelievably retarded commie political ideology (the only thing that's ever made him not hot in my eyes), he's actually a really great American.

54:28 you know, it's so interesting to me what Jack says here, because it's so true re: how the brain remembers patterns in the brick and wood and ceiling of places that you've spent a lot of time in. The other day just before I woke up, I could see (and hear) an entire room of my childhood home, an area that only I slept in for probably 6 months or so. It wasn't the area that I lived in for most of my 16 years there. But I thought it was so incredibly bizarre to wake up (technically just before waking up) and be so totally immersed in that location that when I opened my eyes, I was almost surprised not to be there.

56:00 it's called magic.

57:50 pure sex, 100%.

1:04:07 lmfao I knew some riff-raff was gonna come along... honestly, that was a beautiful moment.

Such an excellent interview on every level, every second was legend.

This is a song from the "Fear Of The Dawn" album and I think it's pretty good...

The drums are off the hook and I like the vocals too, it's kind of aggressive.

It like it, it's better than I figured it'd be.
