When that type of stuff happens in real life (e.g. unexplained, mysterious), it's the kinda thing that makes people think their houses are haunted.

I've never intentionally pinned a thread, it messes up the look of the site... like as you can see it shows up under its own sorta sectioned off banner area and I don't prefer that look. I may pin threads now and then if it looked different though. For the best that it doesn't. A pinned thread is an ignored thread.

There are quick click mod action menus/drop down boxes at the bottom of the page. If one gets selected, you can choose the mod action you want via arrow and then you can hit enter and it'll do the action...

The only thing I can think is that I somehow hit some random keys, selected the box, just so happened to land on the Pin option by chance, and then hit enter?

No idea. But that's the non-mystical explanation here.

Thought I'd post that before I move along to the next episode.

Anybody ever had an experience that made them think the website they were using was sentient or that the internet was haunted?

Lmao, half joking.

Okay, moving along for real now.

Nah but on some real shit, I have had those kind of experiences with certain websites throughout my internet history, it's not a first for me.

I do just so happen to believe websites can be conscious and that the internet can be self-aware.

But that's a topic for another thread and literally one that I've already discussed, probably in several threads, but this is one of them...

"The algorithm has turned against them..."

I already know the answers to them my AI I made as a neural network initially to infiltrate the stock market wasn't so good at that.
So I changed it to make profiles on people it worked good at that.
Now ive deleted it because it turned on me.
But deceit must be given up one must tell the truth.

S1 E16 - "Reward for Matt"

0:55 dude I feel bad for horses, I dunno why they've gotten the shit end of the stick for hundreds and hundreds of years.

1:17 "I'm takin' you into Dodge, Stoner." Roflmfaolol.

2:10 I mean, I agree with Stoner on that.

2:30 lmao we ain't even three minutes in and he's already had to shoot a man!!!

3:00 gettin' killed by Marshal Matt Dillon would be pretty hot, especially if you get to stare into his face while you're breathin' your last!!!

3:47 "Old Lady Stoner" roflmfaololol.

5:20 I mean I'm sorry lady but by your own logic... who fucking cares about YOU?! Lol. Everyone loves Matt, nobody gives a flying fuck about your ass.

5:30 lmfao damn, she's not too smart is she? Is the old lady gonna get it? I feel like she should get it. Isn't it at least a jailable offense to make a threat like that to a marshal? Listen lady, you're not sexy. Give up the fight and go home. Leave livin' to the sexy people.

6:00 and why the fuck is she gonna hire people to kill him instead of killing him herself?? What is she, some kinda pussy? Everybody knows they don't hang women!

16:06 [tragic theme playing] lol.

17:28 I think this is the first scene in the whole show where we ever see Kitty tell somebody off super hard!!!

17:38 "You're a dance hall woman, ain't ya? Ya don't know nothin' about marriage being sacred or holy." Wooowwwww, hey fuck you lady. Kitty and Matt share a super special tender and romantic kinda love that you and your sorry bastard of an old husband never experienced from day one!!!

18:00 SHE ALMOST CALLED HER A BITCH!!!!!! ROFL IT WAS SOOOOO HARDCORE IMPLIED THOUGHHHH!!!!! I'VE NEVER SEEN THAT IN A '50s SHOW BEFORE!!!!!!!

They do a great job of either making you love or hate the characters.

18:27 I'd be DTF every time he walked into the place!!!

21:40 wow this stupid bitch has some nerve. SHE'S the one nobody likes.

9:58 lol I just noticed there are dudes passed out on some of the tables.

10:06 the clip they show up close of them using the old timey slot machine is the exact same one that I screencapped from the other episode... https://www.sectual.com/thread-18541-pos...#pid153438

12:15 wow, Miss Kitty was looking at this Mr. Jordan a little too friendly for my liking.

13:00 sure fucking seems like it, Matt. I think the marshal's gonna have to lay that dick on Miss Kitty extra hard tonight and set her straight... seems like she's forgetting who runs this town.

14:16 awww, this little card-sharkin' feller's real cute!!! Wonder who he is. Ah, here he is: https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/6809...-mccallion Pretty eerie how everybody's on that FindAGrave site, lol! o_0 It's a great database of people, except you gotta be dead to be on there!!!

16:20 oooo, I LIKE Vince. A LOT. Good golly. I wish he was a regular on the show. He was on the show 3 times, but his next appearance was 12 years after this. https://imgur.com/a/SnZLRn8

18:30 lol these dumbasses, thinking a damn stage coach robber is their friend.

19:20 lol he's trying to figure out where they keep the money.

19:50 you know, Chester low key pisses me off sometimes.

21:20 honestly I hope he robs these fuckers blind, they're dumb and selfish.

23:30 I knew that was gonna happen.

25:08 alright alright fine, we forgive ya.

God, what a great show. Thank God for Gunsmoke.

0:40 that's the clearest shot we've gotten of Dodge City from afar during any of these Boot Hill intros... https://i.imgur.com/8MuSs3X.png

Least memorable episode yet.

That's all for disc 3!

0:55 damn, that Miss Kitty sure did dress mighty fine... https://i.imgur.com/k13tYYn.png

1:00 oooOooOooo that was flirty! LOL, she got all dressed up to meet the stagecoach and pick up her new HAT! With a Paris label! lolol!

4:15 so this is the man who inspired Matt to become a marshal.

5:10 Miss Kitty don't like this fucking guy and neither do I.

5:56 so true.

9:20 lmao, he sent him to the Lady Gay. Insultinggg.

9:50 what in the hell is that big ol' shiny thing across Miss Kitty's chest?? https://imgur.com/a/vtxznqj It looks like a necklace but I don't think it is. Looks like it's just sticking onto her skin... pretty cool.

S1 E20 - "Reunion '78"

So this epic 20th episode Boot Hill intro has prompted me to look up "Gunsmoke Boot Hill intros" on a Google search and see if anything was ever said about these legendary openers. I found this...

https://m.imdb.com/title/tt0047736/trivia

Quote:The beginning sequence with Marshal Matt Dillon (James Arness) walking around through the graves on Boot Hill and giving the opening narration was taken directly from the radio series.

Well that makes sense. It's an homage to the radio show.

I also came across a really interesting page of quotes by James Arness...

https://www.celebheights.com/s/James-Arness-2320.html

Quote:In the 1970s he said "I'm 6'6" and weigh 225 pounds", although he also said in 2005, "I was 6 feet 7 when I started and I've shrunk up a little bit. I'm probably 6'5" or so now. But up here at 82 I feel pretty good."

https://m.imdb.com/title/tt0047736/trivia

Quote:In the radio series, Miss Kitty Russell was a madam for prostitutes. In the first couple of seasons, there were some hints at that on the television series. James Arness explained on the DVD commentary that after the first couple of seasons, they decided to drop those references to make the show more family friendly, and so Miss Kitty became just a lady saloon owner.

LOL, aha!

Quote:James Arness received his draft notice in 1943, and trained at Camp Wheeler, Georgia, before shipping out for North Africa. He was assigned to the 3rd Infantry Division in time for the invasion of Anzio. Ten days after the invasion, he was severely wounded in the leg and foot by machine gun fire. He lost part of his foot, and received a medical discharge from the Army. When shooting movies or television shows, any scenes that required extensive walking would be shot early in the morning, before his feet and knees started giving out.

Woooowwww... *heart eyes*

Quote:In the show's twenty-year run, James Arness was the only actor who appeared in every episode.

Thank God he's in every single episode, that's all I know.

Quote:In Spanish-speaking countries, the series is known as La Ley Del Revólver ("The Law of the Revolver").

Whoooaaa!!!

Quote:In the series' 20 seasons, Matt Dillon kissed only one lady: Michael Learned of The Waltons (1972) fame, in Gunsmoke: Matt's Love Story (1973).

Well that's a bit of a spoiler... lol. But I guess it answers my question about whether Marshal Dillon was always faithful to Kitty. Seems that he was. How interesting. This is what Amanda Blake meant when she said that James Arness never wanted to make a mistake with his character and never wanted to let anyone down.

Quote:The series was set in the 1870s. Kansas entered the Union in 1861. The U.S. Marshal's Service provided local law enforcement in territories, not in states. The duties Matt Dillon performed would have been handled by a town marshal or county sheriff (in this case, Ford County). Each state (or federal court district) had one U.S. marshal, who was in charge of all of the deputy U.S. marshals in that particular jurisdiction; Matt Dillon would have been a deputy U.S. marshal.

More interesting info about the differences between marshals, sheriffs, etc.

Quote:During the show's twenty season run, anytime between seasons when the writing crew was 'washed-up' with ideas/stories and kept repeating/recycling, they would entirely be replaced with a new writing crew.

Lmao, wow! I actually agree with this approach. They clearly knew what they wanted with Gunsmoke and they weren't gonna put up with any naysaying motherfuckers. I will be the judge of whether the show got washed up or not.

Quote:The cast of the radio version was completely different than the television version. Playing the main roles were William Conrad as Marshal Matt Dillon, Georgia Ellis as Miss Kitty Russell, Howard McNear as Doc Adams, and Parley Baer as Chester. In fact, with the exception of Conrad, many felt that the radio cast were going to reprise their roles on the televised version.

Ladies and gentlemen... before there was TV, there was radio. Let's never forget that, and what it means for the format of entertainment that we enjoy today... what'll it be replaced with? Holograms?

Quote:Unfortunately, according to Arness, the cancellation at the end of the 20th season got them by surprise. The cast and crew were all expecting another season, three at most, at least until the series had seven hundred episodes.

Tsk. They should have let 'em have that 700... they were done wrong by the cancellation, but again, I'll share my thoughts on that as I continue to progress through the series. I'll be honest.

Alright, back to the episode...

1:00 my favorite of all the Boot Hill intros yet, absolutely beautiful, check it out... https://imgur.com/a/eaEXZOX

Those captions though. Not perfect. Should have been done better. Not sure what the limitations were which caused them to settle for lack. Regardless, still better than nothing. Maybe they'll get it right on the 75th anniversary release ;)

2:52 uh oh, this may be the finest saloon broad I've ever seen, she's SURE to be trouble.

3:00 Miss Belle!? Oh she's trouble for sure... https://imgur.com/a/G1muANr

3:46 uh oh, lol, I guess Chester's gettin' some for free tonight!!!

4:00 her appearance, makeup etc. is a clear tip of the hat to Marilyn Monroe. The actress who portrays her just died this year... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marion_Brash

7:50 lol the marshal's body language while this whole bar fight is heating up just speaks volumes... he's so chill and just exudes pure and total manliness.

8:17 he's got a Queen of Diamonds tattoo... what does that mean?

15:50 re: the tattoo, WTF is a Quantrill? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_Quantrill I dunno, maybe some kinda gang. I guess that's what the Q stood for.

16:20 carried off his ma, huh?! No wonder he's mad!!!

17:00 that dance hall hussy saw what happened, is she gonna talk!?

19:20 somebody needs to hold her down and tickle it out of her!!!

That was a great story.
