LMAO check it out, Marshal Dillon's unfaithfulness to Miss Kitty in the show's 19th year was such a big deal that there was a news article written about it in 1973!!!

https://www.nytimes.com/1973/10/07/archi...rdner.html

Spoiler alert, but Matt's implied sexual relationship with Miss Learned's character was AMNESIA INDUCED!!!

James Arness probably wouldn't go for it any other way...

I love it!!!

S1 E21 - "Helping Hand"

1:17 he's pretty hot, but my heart belongs only to Marshal Dillon now. Who is that guy though?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brett_Halsey

He looks familiar but I certainly didn't know his name before! A lot of these guest stars were probably pretty new to TV/movies when they came on this show. A lot of them you may recognize, but they're usually a lot younger on here, like in the case of Burt FREAKIN' Reynolds!!!

1:48 Miss Kitty's looking at him a little too friendly for my liking!!!!!!!

2:15 I think she thinks he seems too young.

2:50 LOL she's taking him upstairs!!! LOL. Oh my. Agh well, I can't say I blame her... I'd wanna roll him up and tuck him away safe in my lady lair too.

3:35 uh, wow. Well that fucking douchebag asshole would never be allowed back into my fine establishment again. What the FUCK?

4:38 that running scene was pretty suspenseful, not gonna lie.

4:58 "In my room" OOOOHOOOHOOHOOOO!!!!! That was AWKWARRRRRDDD!!!! Matt didn't look none too happy about it either, lmao!!!!!!!!!

8:08 "Now back to my FRICKIN' card game!!!"

16:00 lol oh man!!! That's hardcore!!! Making him buy everybody drinks!!! You know what, this kid's obviously a dumbass, I think Marshal Dillon's lost all faith in him, he did him a solid and he didn't value it enough!!!

16:40 "I thought you were taken with him" GASP@!!!!!!!!! Oh my GOSH!!!!!!!!! Oh Matt... how can we make it up to you baby?!?! *nanarub*

16:55 now she thinks he's a dumbass like the rest of us do, and it's killed her ladyboner, that's what.

I wanna see more jealous moments between Matt and Kitty, that'd be hot. It turns me on.

24:35 did he actually just shoot Matt?!?!?!!??!!1 Looks like he maybe just grazed him though.

Lmao, that was the end of the episode. No going to Doc, no affirming that Matt is fine, lmao just the end.

S1 E22 - "Tap Day For Kitty"

1:50 lmao, bitter much, lady?!

2:22 lol, this lady looks pissed too! Who is this guy?!

2:47 yeah he just called you old, you mad bro?! Damn, this guy's scary lookin' as hell!!! Eyebrows on fleek though!?!

3:00 yeah, she just called you a fool, what're you gonna do about it old man?!?!1

3:08 OMG he fuckin' smacked her!!! LOL!!! I didn't expect that!!! "No more sass outta you!" ROFL!

4:09 lmao dang, these ladies are being a little harsh though, NGL.

4:40 lmao, that's what I said!!!

5:00 those bar bitches work under Kitty, so she does have every right to tell them off.

5:40 what the hell does she mean, Miss Kitty literally owns the place. Oh hell no, I'd kick those hoes out STAT. They'd be out of a job, go sell your slit down at the Lady Gay, ya freakin' barnyard bitches.

6:54 lmao look at Matt's face in the background.

10:30 all I know is I could barely contain myself standing next to a man as fine as Marshal Dillon.

11:50 well... I guess Miss Kitty should have let those bitches laugh ol' Nip out of town after all.

15:20 shit, I hope she DID do it!!! LOL!!!

15:45 or a dude with little feet.

15:50 I think it's pretty obvious that one of the other women is trying to frame her.

16:28 well compare them, it's not like she changed her shoes?!

16:50 the shape WAS NOT exact, the prints were shaped different at the toe, but she just stepped all in 'em so now they can't even be seen anymore. 1800s crime scene forensics for ya.

18:30 ah it was his daughter... no doubt about it.

19:15 I'm gonna get out the Aveeno and get ready for the inevitable scene where they compare Miss Kitty's feet to Blossom's side by side!!! *nanarub*

19:55 ah shit, I bet it was this Nettie lady, not his daughter. Might not need that Aveeno after all!? *dancing banana*

21:00 well it's understandable... too bad her aim was off.

21:10 "Who else would have him?" True. This is what so many men just don't realize. They all think they're a Matt Dillon, but really, they're a Nip Cullers.

24:50 "Is he dead!?" roflmfaolol.

25:00 Miss Kitty says, "20 years, that's an awful long time. I don't know if I could wait that long." Epic foreshadowing much?? EPIC FORESHADOWING MUCH?? Did they KNOW Gunsmoke was gonna last for 19 years?? This is season ONE. You can't tell me that line was coincidence.

S1 E23 - "Indian Scout"

I don't really like the episodes where they feature an "Indian" character because of the way the actors talk... I think it's stereotypical and badly done.

I'm watching it on 1.80 speed... I'd skip it entirely but that's against the rules and it's not like there isn't gonna be some eye candy in it anyways, James Arness is in every episode.

22:00 pretty brave choice.

23:15 ah well, that's what he gets.

Damn, that speed function is pretty handy!!!

S1 E24 - "The Pest Hole"

What a title! That would be my nickname if I worked at the Long Branch as a saloon girl!

2:00 oh shit man, there's something nasty going around Dodge City! That's what they'd say if I was a saloon girl, lmao okay okay.

2:30 typhoid?! Oh shit.

5:08 "Keep outta this, marshal!" Um, excuse me?

6:42 "Nothin' in the wide world that'll start a panic faster than that one little word... 'plague'." ... *2020 has entered the chat*

14:20 "Schlachtfest" ... sounds like what would be going on at place my on a Friday night?! *dancing banana*

20:22 "For some reason" roflmfao.

S1 E25 - "The Big Broad"

0:40 why it's a lady dressed like a cowboy!

4:00 lol I kinda like this ol' battle axe.

4:20 I thought it seemed like she was sweet on Chester!!!

8:18 "I've never tangled with a woman before! Ya can't out-talk 'em, ya can't hit 'em, what CAN ya do?" Lolol!!! I kinda love seeing Marshal Dillon in this situation.

9:40 well that escalated quickly!!!

17:00 lol, and it turns into a love story.

18:00 rofl, Matt's facial expressions.

Very enjoyable episode.

18:20 lmao it'd be fucked up if it was all a trick and he just shoots her at the end. Wait, OMG. What if it is?? That'd be really sad. No bullshit.

20:10 oh man that's tough. I think I know what's gonna happen next.

21:18 yuuuuuuup.

21:40 duuuude. That's fuuuuucked up. Oh man. Wowwww.

22:35 WHAT>!?!?!/?

That episode was a rollercoaster!!!

That's all for disc 4.

The plot is that Matt knocked up his amnesia induced conquest and never knew about it until all those years later...

In reference to S19 E3 - "Matt's Love Story"...

Quote:I've watched since 1955 often until retirement now watched all 20 seasons and this was one of my top 5 episodes. Arness, Michael Learned and Victor French were excellent. Would have rated a 10 if Kitty could have felt the pain Matt had watching her over the years stepping out by seeing him with Miss Learned.

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0594245

Wow so Kitty steps out on Matt more than once. I already saw that one episode where she did it.

Why is it okay for Kitty to step out on Matt but he never does anything of the sort for 19 effing years and when he finally does, it's fricken amnesia??

I'm not saying I wish he had, but...

Sigh.

You clearly made this.

It's fucking
A M A Z I N G.

It's wonderful.

I'm tempted to ask for permission to print it and frame it, with no intention of distribution, etc.

You are the god damned BOMB.

Seriously. It's really lovely. I love your aesthetic so very much.

It's like the visual representation of what you're doing as a reviewer; the way you filter the world of the authors/creators/whomever through YOUR world, and it comes out looking more beautiful and cool than it otherwise might.

It's part of why it's so deeply cathartic to be able to be some small part of what you're doing.

Please don't ever stop.

Yeah I wanted a baller photo of Marshal Dillon for my phone wallpaper, lol!

Here's the version I'm using specifically to fit the phone/screen ratio properly:

Most people don't understand why the fuck I do what I do...

Even though commentary is a natural human desire, they don't understand how it works in this technological age.

I can't be concerned with whether people get it or not...

A lot of times they only have a problem with what I do because it takes my attention away from them and they don't get to feed off me the way they want to.

Life is of a parasitical nature...

People are gonna feed on your energy, it's what they do...

You just better make sure it's people you approve of, and never people you don't.

I've certainly developed a better appreciation of Gunsmoke from this thread. Before, it was just another old TV Western. I knew it was popular back in the day, but I had no idea it had become a cultural institution.

I've noticed that just calling Marshal Dillon "Matt" feels weird. I prefer to call him Marshal Dillon whenever possible. Plus it's sexier. Referring to Miss Kitty simply as "Kitty" doesn't feel quite right either.

I listened to the intro of the first episode of the radio show... the recording quality was listenable, you can tell it's pretty old, but it's not a problem. I'm so used to James Arness's gorgeous sexy voice that it'd be hard for me to get into it. However I'm sure the quality got better over the years. I'm so stoked that the whole show is just right there for free.

I think it'd be great to listen to in the same kinda settings that are appropriate for podcasts and audio books, like when you're working around the house, driving, working out, whatever the case may be. Just anything that you can't pay attention to a screen while you're doing.

Wonder if it's downloadable from that site. If it is, then I have my work cut out for me tonight, muahahahaha!!!

Hey thank you Dev, that means a lot to me.

I try to look up anything I'm curious about as I'm watching the episodes, and I share tidbits of info along the way.

I'm looking forward to learning everything about it, but the spoilers I've come across (particularly those dealing with Marshal Dillon's lack of romantic interests) I kinda could have done without. It's okay though.

Of all the info I've come across so far, James Arness's history of military service has probably been my favorite insight. It's so wonderful to watch this show and enjoy him to the fullest knowing that he was a real life war hero. It makes me love him for so much more than just his great looks and that sexy voice!

Oh now it's onnn...

Rub Hands

What a treat, so EXCITED!!!

I can't wait to have a whole folder full of every one of the radio show episodes, where it all started.
