Fleeing the Plantation
A $30 Android phone does perform better than the free gubmint fone though. Lol

That's fucked up.

I'm serious. After two defective phones, they switched me to another model. Dude at the store, who I think is Cuban because he doesn't look Mexican, Mayan, or Puerto Rican, said he likes this model better.

I think dude and the two women working there are all Cuban. The one chick has a slight permanent smile that makes her look happy all the time.

The other broad, who may be the mom of the other two, has some massive tiddies.

I've been wearing the same jeans for a week or more. They stink. There's an outfit on the south side called Joe's that does homeless laundry for free. I'm gonna try to raise funds for detergent and bleach, and go check it out Friday.

The most important thing is to have a change of clothes for when the other clothes are drying.

I used to wash my clothes with the hand soap in a gas station bathroom and then go park somewhere and clip/tie the clothing items to the top of the car and let them dry during the day.

It works but it takes all day and this is why I go for quick dry materials (cotton, poly, etc.) over anything heavy like denim.

In colder temps I guess you could pay for only a dryer at the laundromat and bring your wet pre-washed clothes.

Jeans are a bitch to clean... I'd ditch 'em for sweatpants and whatnot, or at least wear the sweats for the most part and then keep the jeans for special occasions when attire matters.
Reply
You could get a long johns layer and wear the sweats over top so you didn't have to wash those as often and the long johns might dry faster. I do this with everything besides jeans, which is the only clothing that requires single layer on the legs, necessitates underwear, etc. Fuck some jeans, I don't wear them anymore but I keep them around in case I ever need to look normaler.

Most washaterias around here require that you use their washers if you're gonna use their dryers. I spent $6.50 on two loads last time. It's harder to raise that much money out here than it sounds.

They don't call them washaterias around here. That's in a charming neck of the woods I  revisited a few years back.

If you really want to get away, and go on a nice adventure and not struggle so much...

Did you know you can go to about any country and still get your disability payments? I think Russia is currently one of the only
places you can't live and still get benefits. There's some nice places south of the border where the USD goes a long way.
Also a different culture that's not so... toxic. Yes, there is poverty but it's gorgeous and you have many different areas to live in or by,
from desert, to jungle, to seaside, or mountains and a combo. Lots of states in Mexico where it's easy to get by. Apparently in south east
asia you can live like a king on the USD what I wouldn't want to go there...seems....greasy. I have more in common with my south of southern
brothers who love them beans and tortillas. The scary 'cartel' doesn't fuck with 'civilians.' Winter is approaching and the weather is nice, no snow
but it does get cold at night in the desert (I think about 45f). Definitely a better life than living in a U.S. men's shelter, or on the street.
As far as your medical issues are concerned; the doctors there are cheap. Lots of people actually fly to Mexico for certain medical or dental procedures
it's that cheap WITH the price of round trip air.

Don't have a passport? No problem. Getting into Mexico isn't like a Mexican getting into the U.S.  Any u.s. embassy can help you get your
documents.

This guy explains stuff; he's an expat living in Mexico. The average Mexican policeman makes less than $500USD/month.

Best of luck to you, I know all too well the struggles of toxic relationships and no matter if your mother, your father, or your ex,
you HAVE to cut them out and know you're not alone. That's one of the benefits of having a 'higher' power. Faith/spirituality I've learned
is actually a key component to mental health maintenance.

Looking forward to reading about your success through adversity. It does make you strong and it does suck. Homeless in the U.S. versus Homeless
in Mexico... Shit, no homeless if you've got social security and it's completely legal with the U.S. Govt and Social Security Administration.

Panama I think is even cheaper, Ecuador (these are places I'm reading on this article on cnbc
describing costs.

I love Mexican 'family' culture. They love their kids and don't treat them like shit, they believe in God,
and they don't stuff their seniors into zombie farms, old folks are taken care of by their loving children.
Good food too. =)

I really need to be in a place that's less hot and humid. Sweating aggravates my condition, and I do plenty of it already.

I made enough for coffee and cigarettes by giving a man a ride first thing this morning. I have another fare lined up for later in the day. That and pop sales should get me laundry supplies and a couple of other things.

I'm enjoying not being tethered to guest wifi spots. Android and iPhone both present their own unique challenges when posting to a desktop site, but I'm finding the Android interface more cooperative overall.

Not complaining about the website on mobile. My own site is practically guaranteed to not work on iPhone. Lol

In the Commodores song "Easy," there's a line that goes "free to know the things I do are right." That's exactly what I was missing when I was under the thumb of my narcissist abusers. In their eyes, everything I did was wrong, wrong, wrong. So, while the guest poster is right about faith being a major determining factor, autonomy plays an important role in allowing one to act according to one's faith.

I learned a new term today. A flying monkey is a sycophant of a narcissist who reports back to the narcissist on where you are, what you're doing, etc. The stepmother had one of those. This broad has been discarded by the stepmother several times, but they always end up making up.

The funny thing about the stepmother is that she apparently can't find fresh people to get new supply from. She always ends up going back to the same handful of people. Sucks to be her. Lol

Absolutely. The 'smart' phone that the providers offer are complete garbage. Luckily, you don't have to use that one.
The sim can be put into any phone you have. I have one and use it in my iphone.

Another 'freegubmint' thing they have now is free internet based on income or assistance in your state.
I think it's called ACP or something (affordable connection program). https://www.fcc.gov/acp

Went from paying almost 80 a month to zero. Speed is decent (3Mbps/30mbps), streams without buffering, no lag if I decide
to play a game (rarely) and a 2gigabyte (compressed) 1080p movie takes about 20 minutes to download I think, so it's free and
I'm not too proud to beg, ha... The other day I prepared and ate petit filet mignon courtesy of our local food pantry (which also
gave me 2lbs of ground meat).

I bet there's a decent phone that's unlocked for resale you can get the sim, call your provider and switch the sim over
to the phone you get. I'm still using a 4g iphone. I don't use the data that much in public except for using gps to find a
location. In the house it's always connected to wifi. If I run out of minutes, I just use wifi to make a google voice call, or
if I have a contact with an iphone, facetime is the clearest VOIP I've come across.

https://www.walmart.com/ip/Used-Unlocked...hbdg=L1600 This one's $75 (used)
I don't like apple products but I dislike android operating system even more. Iphone are terrible if you're running a windows pc and want to
transfer pictures/data. That's one thing I liked about androids; easy to transfer any file type to or from the phone.

I've gained some weight and like 'stretchy' pants which are basically made out of that plastic stuff
not 'sweatpants/cottonblend' material. They're pretty porous; I think moisture wicking and inexpensive.
I have shorts but you can get them as pants and if you need more thermal layering you can by the
thermals made of nylon instead of the traditonal cotton/blend 'long-johns.' They're also hella easy to
clean in a sink and dry quickly in the sun compared to plant based clothing.

dollar store/dollar tree shampoo, a sink, less than two minutes of agitation and these things are clean and
smell good and dry in less than half an hour in mid-day sun.

I'm glad you are free even if the situation is challenging... nothing makes life with a narcissist worth it.

That's the case with a lot of them, so I've noticed. I think this indicates attachment issues/complications stemming from childhood on the part of the narcissist.

I still have my old Android phone, but I think the screen is broken. I kept it so I can eventually transfer my contacts to a new phone.

They definitely have attachment issues. Dear old Auntie has apparently run off everyone except the stepmother. Her own son never comes to see her. I'm pretty sure they were batshit afraid I'd leave, and they wouldn't be able to find someone else to do all the things I did for them. A rational person in that situation would try not to alienate the person who's helping them.
