Pilots that flew near the object that was shot down (in Canada) said that it interfered with their sensors, with some pilots claiming to have seen no identifiable propulsion.

This appears to have been a false alarm: New NORAD statement says "NORAD detected a radar anomaly and sent fighter aircraft to investigate. Those aircraft did not identify any object to correlate to the radar hits. NORAD will continue to monitor the situation."

Something on the radar caused serious enough concerns that they launched 2 jets to investigate it...

They closed airspace to investigate it.
