As far as what YouTube was made for, check this out. Making a battery move by itself using magnets.
THIS is what YouTube was created for!

It's so cool that you just decided to make that on a whim, and there it is...
Now it exists. It's really satisfying. I'm second-hand satisfied.

I'm really itching to do an old school news scroller.
As you may recall, I worked for a newspaper for about 9 years. While I was there, one of the system I maintained was a vendor feeds system that pulled in syndicated content from Associated Press and other sources. I want to make something similar that loads RSS feeds from various sites and displays the headlines in a scroller.

I love that idea.
I think we are both really into retro kinda stuff... Fusing that retro aesthetic with the internet is brilliant. Hmmm... It kinda sparks my creative desire too. I've always wanted to make a super retro looking website, a bunch of chartreuse, hippie colors and designs... I made a single page in that style one time but I deleted it. It's all very inspiring though.

There would be no purpose for my hippie site, it'd just be kind of like an artistic landing page dealio.
It's definitely not the time for me to do that right now, but I'm gonna do it at some point. I have a few ideas for sites that I wanna make in the future, but the time has to be right.

I suppose the days of putting moon phases and scrollers and such on the front page are long gone. The "above the fold" space is valuable, and the trend for the last couple of decades has been to reserve it for main site navigation, alerts, and site search. Nobody even spares the space up top for a fancy logo anymore.
These widgets would be useful to spice up a back page app though. Maybe a moon phase on a calendar app, or a scroller on a news page. There are plenty of ways to sneak a little old school chic into a site. On my site, I'm gonna completely remove the left sidebar with the private messages and alert boxes. These will be displayed in the main chat instead. If the user happens to be AFK or on another page and misses them when they scroll by, some little icons up top will light up, as on any social media site. I may replace the Who's Online box with a chat command to display the user list in the chat window too.

Don't let them change your course your goals because of what they have done. Stay on tracking do what you were going to do anyway, Don't let them change your path lady. Cos they will try.

So yeah, I was digging through old code on one of my backup drives and found the XML parser I wrote for this app. Yes, I poach code that people paid me to write and use it for my own purposes. I ain't gonna write that shit twice. Anyway, if I can remember how that thing works, it should be pretty easy to bang out RSS and Atom parsers for a news app.
Show me that code? I told ya start again adapter fix is a waste of time just do it C++ from start.
dll .Net is stupid.

You're an idiot.
First of all, you don't toss out a buttload of perfectly good code and start from scratch. Secondly, y'all are making me miss Hee Haw.
