Mennonites probably build better barns though.

Way more sick nasty perverts in Mormonism for sure though.

In a molester/rapist smackdown, Mormons would win... no contest.

I gotta say...

Katie prolly moved to the wrong damn place if she wants to save money and NOT shop, lmao!

If I were her, I'd get a FL drivers license, secure a job and start working to stay there indefinitely, regardless of her friend's lodging.

DFW is super plastic too, probably rivals LA.
I bet Alabama is good. Don't know why, I've only been to Birmingham and everyone was fat. But I have a good feeling about the rest of it.

Yeah, to be fair, the whole south used to be known for hot ladies.

True that is a rabbit hole I've glanced into unfortunately.

It is super expensive there. Mainly Miami and Tampa though. She said she was in "middle Florida" whatever that means.

Can't really be more than an hour from the beach so maybe she'll give TJ Maxx a break and take a trip one of these days

I totally missed the part where she said that.

As long as she ain't in Jacksonville, there are nothing but reasons to celebrate!?

Yeah, I know about the pervs in the Mennonite community from somewhat personal experience...

Well, I mean, as "in the know" as an outsider is allowed to be.

The incident I recall happened in the late 1990s and it was a massive scandal.

Freudian slip dude! Lol

Unless you did mean Mennonites? I dunno, I thought Mormons were the creeps and Mennonites were innocent cowboy woods dwellers who you maybe hoped were pervs

Loool, hahahaha no...

I wasn't victimized by Mennonites or anything, but...

When you live in a place with a really big Mennonite population and you have business connections with them and stuff like that...

You get a sorta window into their community, and then it can end up being one of those weird situations where you just happened to be in close proximity when the shit hit the fan.

It's one of those "Wow, I can't believe I didn't just automatically suspect that guy was a pervert" kinda situations.

Cuz in retrospect it seems so obvious, but at the time, it just seemed like he was an oddly technologically savvy Mennonite dude.

So that's why I say...

They ain't supposed to be involved in all the tech, and if they are, it's a red flag.

Nobody needs close proximity or first hand experience with the Mormons to know they're a bunch of freaks.

Well, the men are. The females are just Stockholm Syndrome'd like they are throughout so many other religions/ideologies.

With the Mennonites, I feel like it's slightly more shocking because none of their beliefs are clearly/obviously based in male perversion and dominance over females. They're a lot more fair and respectable than Mormons.

The Amish and Mennonites were originally one group, but the Amish split off because they basically wanted more involvement in modern society. They'll claim it was for other reasons, but that's BS. Amish drive cars and shit like that... Mennonites are purists. Which is why you gotta live really close to them to get any sorta work done like barn raising etc.

Ahh we must've had more modern ones. A lot of them owned factories and were pretty well off. There was a livestock auction known as the Mennonite casino lol
Definitely some minor scandals but nothing like what I've read about Mormons.

"American Horror Story" needs to do a Mormon edition.

Rofl. If they haven't already. I dunno, I haven't watched that show in years.

As far as I know it's the other way around. The Amish are the hardcore no tech folk.
They were all originally Anabaptists I believe. Pretty brutal history of being harrassed and basically chased out of Europe.

Maybe your cowboy dudes are straight Amish? Are you sure you don't live in The Village?!

I wonder if Amish and Mennonite communities are different throughout the country...

hmmm
