Humans are more animal than they are any of their other components.
They were made to have limits. To be blocked off from certain advancements.
Their tendency to build infrastructure, machines, etc. comes from their 'robot' and 'alien' composition.
Their 'monkey' aspect is a roadblock they won't get around...
There's not enough of the other components. They will mimic and attempt to travel in space and do those things 'the others' did, but ultimately they will not be successful.
In fact, if it hadn't been for the mistakes of 'the others', humans would have never ended up with any of the tech they currently have on a widespread basis.
Certain clues were left that come from beyond the 'roadblock', and though they lack the ability to understand them, they can still use them. And of course in doing so, jeopardize their planet.
No one cares though... in fact it's believed that 'the others' are dead. And they wouldn't care even if they weren't because they willingly deserted the alien robot monkey.
