I've seen a few unusual looking bots today. Nothing that really sets off any alarms though. They're not bumping my view counts, which means MyBB probably already knows about them.
Off-topic, but I understand what you're doing here a little better now, MO.

Thank you! Even you and I had a conversation a long time ago about why I link to old threads and prior posts rather than addressing things over and over... I don't like to repeat myself either, and I use this site as a database of myself and all my interests. It's easy to link to some point in the past where I've already addressed almost everything. So I am glad that you can now see how useful and efficient this system is.

I really recommend talking to oneself...
You will get haters who judge you for it, but it's because they're triggered over the fact that they wanna do the same thing, but they're too scared/embarrassed to.
Once you realize that an open, ongoing discussion with yourself fills almost every mental/emotional void you have, you'll never be the same.

You probably already knew this, but I am stating it for the potential benefit of anyone who may ever read this.
I have all text from this site saved and eventually will sort it (well, my posts at least) and make it a physical copy. I've already done that with some of it.
This isn't just a website that can disappear...
It's a really long book I've been writing, and it's safe and sound.

Well, I assume it must be pretty long by now. It certainly can't be considered short.
There's a type of desktop software for organizing your notes into a knowledge base. It's based on a manual system that used index cards. There's a German word for it, but the search engines are bent on not helping me find it at the moment. lol
Anyway, the most popular program is called Obsidian. I downloaded it once, but I never did anything with it.

You've done a real good thing here. The internet's a better place because of it.
The word I was looking for is Zettelkasten.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zettelkasten
You have to type a damned paragraph into a search engine to get one word back.
I'm gonna quit posting here. Guest ain't gonna stop lurking on my board if he can chat with me over here. lol
We say "over here" like all of the forums are in the same neighborhood or something.
I can't afford to live in the same neighborhood as Zuck.

That's such a kind thing to say that I honestly want to cry. Thank you SEIH. Sending you love.

They kinda are...
Message boards exist on a different plane than the rest of the internet.
It's a special psychic plane of existence.
The first Web community I joined was a cgi-bin chat called The Hot Tub. It was hosted on Digital Equipment Corporation's server. It felt so much like a real place back then that you could feel the steam and hear the bubbles.
In 2023, the goddamned spell checker has never heard of cgi-bin.

Social media is like that creepy old Victorian mansion way down at the end of the street with dead trees and tombstones in the yard and bats flying around.

Zuck is really Tim Burton, isn't he?
Tom at MySpace was like the neighbor who was always throwing pool parties and barbeques for the whole neighborhood.
If you saw Tom at Walmart, you'd ask him if he needed a ride.
If you saw Zuck at Walmart, you'd wait till he went inside and pop his tires and key his big ugly Hummer.
Is it a conflict of interests for your landlord to offer you renter's insurance?

I'm not an expert, but it sounds kinda sus.
I never heard of it before until I moved in here.
