Not even gonna bullshit, I do love Snickers.
I was thinking a couple weeks ago that I wanted to get some Snickers but I battle with the idea because candy is so pointless. It's been my fave candy bar (the only one I actually like) since I was a wee lil nougat.

The candy aisle was wildly picked over, the minis was all they had. I wanted Fun Size! I'll get them next time. I have decided that a little Snickers every now and then is not going to hurt anything. I'm so against excess sugar. But I get hangry and wait til the last minute to eat and it's usually way past the point of feeling totally crap. I decided I'd be better off snacking on some Snickers than letting things go that far. I think having a healthy balance is important, and I think fearing excess sugar to the degree that I do is perhaps a little too far to the unbalanced side.

I do think sugar is a loathsome beast... but man, agh. What is life without a little sweet somethin' somethin' to indulge in sometimes? Snickers is so close to my heart because of those childhood memories. I feel like they're kind of a gift from God and if it's just one candy bar that I hinge all my sinful indulgence around, then I shouldn't feel that bad about it.

I posted a video earlier about the Wonka reboot and candy bars kept getting referred to as a "luxury"... and they really are a luxury, it's true. In American society, they've been everywhere for so long that we take it all for granted. I want to cherish each and every luxury candy bar that I have and put some gratitude into the universe for these immense blessings.
I will say, I'm gonna be dropping the sugar from my coffee. Probably the creamer too. I'm gonna keep the coffee though?!

I saw that when I was browsing the selection of Snickers at the local store online... bwahahaha. I like to really plan what I am gonna get, look at it for a long time, fantasize about it. Now that I have them, it's like a dream come true.

I figure if I have a little pick me up around, it'll tide me over until I make a real meal for some real sustenance.
These will come in handy. And there really isn't anything all that bad in them... the worst things I see are soy lecithin and palm oil. Of course I would prefer an option with ingredients that have my complete approval, but... sigh, the nostalgia around those Snickers, it's something that I couldn't recreate myself by trying to make my own. I'm not a fan of brand name anything as a general rule, but there ARE a couple of brands that I do feel that sort of nostalgic pull toward.

I like to dump plastic bear honey onto peanut butter if I ever get into a need-sugar mode.
Not sure if honey is worse or if it's just sugar? I heard it was bee puke. Snickers are probably better... I used to steal them from the drugstore as a 10 year old sociopath

Honey actually is the one thing I've indulged in from time to time in the past few months.
Sometimes when I was feeling famished or wanted something sweet, I'd just have a teaspoon and it really cures everything, lol. Love honey so much, I don't care how the bees make it! If it's magic bee puke, that's fine with me!

I love it... l think with peanut butter or any kind of nuts it may lessen the blood sugar spike but I'm no chemist or expert maybe blood sugar spike is awesome and I'm missing out! The crash may be a myth or dependent on other things. People have written entire books on glucose lol
