Everything this Roy guy is doing for young/naive Donald is making me nervous man... I can't imagine how much head and buttsex he's gonna be expecting. I mean they really do a great job of making you feel tense as hell over that aspect of things.

Gay sex aside, it's honestly pretty tough to watch in a lot of ways.
It really is.
It's just really sad.

God I hope Donald doesn't really suck this Roy guy's dick.
I'll be upset if they take shit in that direction.
I might have to stop watching if that happens, I just can't watch Donald gobble cock.
I'm unwilling.

55:50 ROGER FUCKING STONE is being portrayed in this movie.
Here's what Roger had to say about Roy Cohn's sexuality...
Quote:"Roy was not gay. He was a man who liked having sex with men. Gays were weak, effeminate. He always seemed to have these young blond boys around. It just wasn't discussed. He was interested in power and access."
Yeah and Roger was apparently one of them. And BTW, Roger, that's the literal definition of being gay hon.

It actually does have one of the best soundtracks I've heard on any movie in a long damn time...

One thing I love about this movie is that some of the actors have low key fucked up and stammered in their delivery, and you NEVERRR see that anymore. It's normal to fudge your words sometimes in every day speech with other human beings like a fucking normal person.
All the "big" hollywood movies are so fake and perfected, there's no realness in them anymore and there hasn't been since like the '70s, MAYBE the '80s.
I love that realness. It doesn't detract whatsoever. It makes it feel more authentic, like these are REAL people in real scenarios. It's just awesome and I wish they'd stop sanitizing movies and shows of all humanity whatsoever. I'm over it. We need real shit.

Why does EVERYBODY'S life gotta have some underlying tragic shit to it??

So in the second half of the movie, Roy Cohn is dying of AIDS and Donald has turned into an asshole. But the specifics of his assholishness is nothing we didn't already know about, in fact it's literally common knowledge which is why it's in this movie.

Well I'm gonna keep it real, they did go way to fucking far at a certain point of this movie and it's a lot more like 50 Shades than I anticipated.
I'm an hour and a half in, and it's gone from sad, to still fucking sad.
It's just... I mean, a sad movie. I think it's very well done, great acting by everyone, the Warhol impersonator literally looks like Andy Warhol. I'm impressed, but it's also just kind of... tragic.

It's crazy how they flip the script and start making you like Roy more than Donald. A lot of people would probably say this is a smear campaign, but I think the movie is a fair take. Sure it's fictionalized, but I do think a lot of these things could have happened.
It'd be funny if they went totally off the rails and had Donald blowing midgets by the end.

The way Donald ultimately treats Roy is... I mean, kind of appropriate considering the shit this guy has done.
They did so fucking well getting you invested in these characters, and for me at least, that is rare.
I usually never care that much about any of the characters in movies/shows, I've said it before.
So regardless of accuracy and potential biases, I still think it's such a good movie.
Whoever made this should be proud. Visually, it's excellent... perfect casting, great acting.
I enjoyed watching it even though it was sad. So I would say, if you don't mind a sad story, it's good movie.
"The body is like a battery, it has finite energy and it runs out." You know what man, it's shit like this that makes me like this movie outside of the Donald Trump thing. That's what gives this movie most of its value.
It's like The Matrix cloaked in a weird, heavily fictionalized story about Donald Trump's early life. I absolutely love it.
All of these people are so flawed and yet there are these gems along the way. Just exceptional.
The second half of this movie becomes totally absurd in some areas, and it's almost even funny. They did a great job of portraying Donald on speed. I gotta say.
But the whole thing still maintains this undertone of... pity. You feel sorry for Donald in almost every chapter of this story.
Ultimately the movie did go off the rails, but most of it was actually symbolic. I don't think much of the obvious fictional parts were meant to be literal. To think they were would be underestimating the creator of this film.
All in all, there was too much sad for too little payoff if you just want to watch a random movie for no reason. You'd be better off going with a comedy. I give this movie an 8/10.

Trump believed the human body was like a battery, with a finite amount of energy, which exercise only depleted. So he didn't work out. When he learned that John O'Donnell, one of his top casino executives, was training for an Ironman triathlon, he admonished him, 'You are going to die young because of this.'"
