Dexter: Review & Commentary

Oh my gosh, you had a doppleganger encounter too!? Did he recognize that he looked like the actor?? Did you guys ever talk about it??

I always skip the intro of Dexter and every other show, I dislike intros.

That's another thing that makes me roll my eyes about the fans, they're always screaming "bring the intro back"... who the fuck has time for that?? Intros are sooo 1900s.

That guy actually married a redhead who looks like a version of Claire lol! He married his sister! Why I am I just realizing this? And typing it on here. Oh well this thread should get back to Dexter lol

Oh man that intro was like demonic ASMR to me before ASMR existed. No one needs to see a dude's blood shaving up close with weird music!

No man, it's customary that a thread go totally off topic, sometimes for several pages.

I personally love it.

Yeah whenever I'd be skipping ahead until the "Skip" button FINALLY appears, I'd always run into the shaving scene and I wanted to puke in my mouth a lil bit. *shivers* Homie hot as hell though, I always watched the last like 1 second of the intro when he's locked the door and walking by with the smirk on his face.

Lol the intro was part of what put me off the show at the time... we may have had DVR or some shit then, but I don't recall hitting skip ever happening or being an option.

Yep the "Skip" is only an option on streaming services. I dunno if they all have it, but Paramount+ and Netflix do.

There are very few shows that I will sit through the intro. X-Files is one of them, absolutely fucking love that intro, it's so lo-fi and the music is so bomb...

Barney Miller is another excellent theme I'd never skip...

Gunsmoke opening is also too legendary to skip.

Feels wrong to skip the opening of the Twilight Zone too.

Those are all classic intros! Yeah can't think of too many I like... maybe Seinfeld and Brady Bunch lol

As for YT tho... I think Dexter blood is better than "hey guys welcome back to my channel!" Lol

Although what are people supposed to say... theme songs and such are usually best avoided though. SKIP button is a good technology.

Dude I know... I have never seen a YouTube intro that I liked.

I think having an intro can actually do a lot of damage to a channel just because so few people have the attention span to listen for more than the first 5 seconds of a video anyway.

There's this one chick I watch who has never gained much of a following on YT despite being gorgeous and fairly entertaining. She has an intro that is like two minutes long and it has a ton of high pitched shrieking and screaming in it... lmao. I'm so for real.

Every single time I'm like "She hasn't made the connection yet, has she?"

Lol now I'm thinking of a bunch of ones I liked... He-Man, Batman, The Simpsons, South Park, WKRP, Mary Tyler Moore, Cheers... lol OK but Youtubers should generally just get right into the video! I like the way you do it.

Laverne and Shirley, The Jeffersons, Alice... lol anything my grandpa was watching while drinking beer.

Six Feet Under was good too. Intros and theme songs are awesome! Except Dexter.

Taxi! MASH! Hill Street Blues! St. Elswhere! ALLLLLLL OF THEEEEEMMMMM!!!

Pretty much only watch YT now though, so they can stop.

Oh yeah this was a well discussed thing... I have a brother with several insanely accurate doppelgangers too. We have some amazing pics. Would be great to know if the personalities matched up too

They've matched on all the dopplegangers I've ever met...

The dude who looked like Six Feet Under character Nate was big into running, just like Nate was in the show lol so they had that in common anyway!
