can genes carry trauma ?

lab experiments on rats are showing that environmental  hardships have an effect on at least the 3rd generation , so genes are being altered  due to trauma and passing it along , kinda like  bad karma being passed along  to babies  :

Wow it's so amazing you post this because I just watched the video like an hour ago.

That guy's channel is amazing and he's been red pilled FOREVER... he's been interviewing people and asking fascinating questions for decades.

This lady definitely believes that there is trauma/memory carried over in genes. What I think is strange is the assertion that it only starts showing up in the third generation. Hmmm.
