I can't remember the exacts of it [been a few years since I've read it] but
Don Juan told Carlos Castaneda that he had to be very careful in his interactions
with gnats because they were the guardians of the other world. Might have been
just a specific gnat, maybe while Carlos was under the effects of some powerful
plant ally. Like I said, fuzzy on the specifics but I always thought that was kinda
freaky in a "that might actually be true" sorta way.
I know science exists but we as humans really don't know very much about
anything. It's both comical and offensive to even think that we do.
I also know Castaneda was a supposed fraud/crackpot, but his books are
awesome entertainment. I read them as "fiction that could be true/real".
