The Chinese stock market is closed for the New Year (like it always is) and therefore the hit on the global economy won't be as obvious on Monday as it would be otherwise...
Some people are saying that they waited for this opportunity to delay stock market panic even if only for several days...
The assertion is that they've been aware of this grave crisis all this time but waited until right now to come out with it in a very public way in order to line up with the SSE being closed.
