Someone I respect a lot and who is very knowledgeable about Artificial Intelligence, says that it's much further along than the general public realizes. He said within 5-10 there will be massive unemployment and disruption because of it. It looks like this could be some sort of forced austerity plan in preparation for these disruptions. I do wonder of this was planned all along or governments were taken by surprise by the virus. It seems like an extraordinarily coordinated response. It appears they want to shut down international travel in a big way. Everything will be done via video conferencing etc. My wife is already working from home, she was told that she can work from home until June! She thinks the whole thing is some sort of pilot for things to come. I agree with the school situation. Do we really need brick/mortar schools anymore, save for babysitting?
