One reason I think MyBB is the best forum software (free) is because they have a great system of "hiding" posts. They're not removed, they're hidden in place. This makes it easy for a higher up mod to go along and see what the lower rung mods are doing, if they're doing it right, or if their actions need to be undone. Just a tip.
