1) He's either been bullied by some fucked up kids, or just has major self esteem issues.

2) I honestly think guys like this have a very narrow range of women they find acceptable. If those women don't want them they give up. There is no way in HELL that guy couldn't get laid if he really wanted to.

1) I'm guessing it's both. Not to mention possible abuse/neglect early on at home.
Not at all saying the latter is anywhere near true, but it's always a possibility.

2) Totally. Too much importance placed on the outer and little to none on the inner.
