If it was old, then it had McAfee AV which was probably about 938 running background processes and sucks ass. 

You actually need a 3rd party tool to get all their crap off your box. 

Laptops kinda suck; phones and tablets are seeming to replace them. Not as easy to work on and

like you mentioned, not great at cooling hence the "cooling" mats they make for them. 

I like the portability but the "feel" of the little laptop keyboard is gross for some reason. 

I swear they make the power cord connections specifically crappy and designed to break for repeat business. 

Failing hard drives also can get noisy.
