Mister Obvious, are your last two comments in reference to my post about my experience growing up in the South? If so, my point was, it was totally unlike your experience because not only am I much older than you but I grew up in the deep South in Louisiana, where there was a huge divide between the races. There was no mingling whatsoever until my high school was forced to integrate. Things definitely changed during the years, beginning with the Civil Rights movement. Today everyone is aware of racially charged words but back then, there was a total lack of sensitivity and overall, an absolute incomprehension that anyone was being treated wrongly.
