It's weird to look at yourself alongside yourself though.
VERY weird.
How can I explain this??
So I refer to what I do with my music videos as a "creative collaboration with the universe", meaning one thing leads to another and eventually your footage hits that magic spot where it synches up with things... like a "Dark Side of the Moon/Wizard of Oz" effect.
Eventually you're into the project pretty deep to the point where it's a bunch of random cuts not in any particular order, and nothing is intentionally placed...
That's when the magic happens and the imagery synches up perfectly with the song.
When it's video of yourself alongside yourself, you see the same kind of thing happen, where at a certain point, you start to vaguely look like 2 different people with 2 different personalities (or a pair of hot twins) and the "two yous" in the footage start to look at each other and react to each other. No shit. And none of it was done intentionally.
While I was working on this music video, I came to the conclusion that time is an illusion and maybe on some subconscious, psychic level, I knew it was going to look like I was dancing with myself. There were other things that suggested that this mix of footage was meant to be put together. For example, I was using a very pretty stars twinkling/space graphic for this video, just a piece of looped footage I've had for a while... and there were parts where the stars twinkling lined up with my face in totally uncanny, perfect ways and I just don't see that being coincidence. There's something to it all.
