It’s the small circle that is reincarnated, IMO.
Along the family line is my guess, but not linearly.
They recognize past associates across vast time and space.
But even more, they love to observe what we once were. The great wars of the twentieth, 9.11, events of tragic heroism. They break the cycle. The two merge and dissolve. For a very very long time at least, undoubtedly sometimes, forever.
The rarest surf the median for a week or two, incarnate immediately as visions of the recognizable form.
Most, live through a mirror of the past trauma…the insurance salesman shaves his head and lives in psychic sack cloth for years.
Then when he is free, he lives anew…but he has to clean up the messes he made as the bastard.
Repentance.
That’s how we level up.
It’s why the 12 step evangelicals persist.
