Yeah this is what I've been saying for a long time...
Real, raw...
That's where the magic is.
Especially the more soulful someone is, the more powerful their off-the-cuff material tends to be.
That song with you in the car, that was the thumbnail pretty sure...
One of the most beautiful things I've ever heard, I'll never forget that.
All of your songs have that kind of impact on me to some degree, but that one is just forever in my heart.
I also think that live versions really tell the story of a modern musician's talent...
I know of a few artists who make purely electronic music and their studio versions are nowhere near as good as their live performances. Grimes is one I think is a perfect example of that. Denys Parker/18 Carat Affair is great live too.
