i watched the first one earlier this year. i thought it held up well, aside from the CGI.

I watched the 3 Matrix movies and The Animatrix
I think the two sequels of the first 1999 Matrix were just fluff and made to divert attention to truths brought out
in the first one.
Why? The Matrix came out with some startling revelations about our world and how "fake" it is.

The new matrix may be exploiting another weak spot in the human psyche regarding reality and
philosophy. You learn in the first few minutes of the movie the film is about simulated versus "real."
No difference except "real" would be chaotic and in ordered chunks of chaos.
Simulated runs well and has few bugs and is far from chaotic as everything's scripted.
Now the film may challenge your "X" about "Y" and make you "Z."
It doesn't have to be about "simulation" anymore.

i see a lot of people panning it, talking about woke shit. i don't think they got the movie. better than 2 and 3, probably not as good as 1. too much re-used footage. visuals were extremely impressive.
