There will never be a true answer, resolution, or closure in that relationship.
Surely to God Sage has encountered "this kind of" relationship before in his life.
Maybe this is the strongest one and that's why he acts like he's a noob to closureless relationships.
One thing that DOES cause a relationship to never have any closure is mental illness...
When one or both parties are mentally ill, there can be no resolution. It's that simple.
Best to move on and try to forget about it. I understand what he meant when he said that other people may not see HOW she was "supermodel" quality. People including myself have said to him that they don't get why he's so hung up on her looks. So I appreciate him expounding on that point, and I say hey, it's a wonderful thing that Sage liked her enough to feel that way.
But nothing's gonna change the nature of existence, and the nature involved in this is that no answers will be had. That's all there is to it. It's just "one of those things" and Sage should move along. Relationships that break up even once are doomed. There are no exceptions. One break up signals a pattern and history will only repeat itself. Furthermore, any attempt at the same relationship will leave you nothing but bitter, older, and more angry at the world.
Moving along doesn't mean he'll forget about it... quite the contrary. But he should live and act as if he has. He can think about it in his spare time... but I encourage him to keep all that to himself. Certainly never speak about her with a new woman, ESPECIALLY one who has never met her.
Sage should get over his inability to be alone... if he thinks that's not a flaw within himself, he's deluded. It's okay... as far as deluded people go, he's still pretty damn fucking likable, so I am not gonna hold it against him.
