"Gunsmoke" (1955) - Review & Commentary
S1 E27 - "Cooter"

Cooter, lol.

0:30 oh shit, sounds like he's talking about me!!!

1:00 I love his contemplative facial expressions in these Boot Hill scenes.

2:27 "It's too bad you didn't start this game with a man's bankroll," OOOHOOHOOHOOOO. That's insulting.

3:40 we've got a young Robert Vaughn right here... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_Vaughn

9:08 damn, he figured that out fast.

9:36 how the hell does she know THAT?!

11:17 damn, he's got some nice eyebrows. The good marshal is God's gift to women all over!

12:02 "Get outta Dodge."

12:58 "You didn't pay me enough to stay." Ain't that the damn truth.

14:10 oh that's bad news. Lol =\

15:00 so Cooter's got that thar personality alterin' TBI... https://www.sectual.com/thread-16305.html

16:12 lmao I love the random interspersed shot of Doc spitting out husks, roflmfao.

17:37 this song they're playing at the saloon sounds like the opening of Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_J9NpHKrKMw

17:50 so now Miss Kitty is wearing the beauty mark... just earlier tonight I was wondering when it makes its first appearance, and now here it is. She kept wearing the beauty mark for the rest of her life. It was essentially part of the makeup routine, and it was a real trend at one time.

I came across another interesting tidbit about Amanda Blake's life earlier tonight too...

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amanda_Blake

Quote:After the 1956 divorce from Whitman, she would go to the 'saloon set' of Gunsmoke. Blake felt like it was home to her on the days when she was not needed.

It was more than just a show, more than just a set, more than just a role. For all of them. Think about it... imagine back 20 years in your life. That's a long time to have been playing a character for long periods of time throughout the year. Who would you really feel more like? Yourself, or your character?? Would there really be any true difference between the two when it was all said and done?

I find myself getting confused between when Miss Kitty left the show, and when the show actually ended. It really was 20 years... but I keep thinking it was only 19 years, and 19 seasons because she left.

Without Miss Kitty... how can there be Gunsmoke? Those Kitty-less episodes may be hard for me to watch. I can't imagine it. Sure, Matt'll be there. But without Kitty... I don't know.

18:35 wow, this guy really is just absolutely disgusting for attempting to use a mentally handicapped person for such nefarious purposes. Freakin' reprehensible. I wonder if they ever show a hangin'?

18:55 lmao I mean this guy is just WILDLY full of shit!

22:08 God, Marshal Dillon is such a gentle man. What a dream.

24:24 lmao sometimes reverse psychology just doesn't work.
