Dude, Cindy, humans and their stupid little magnetic fields are like SUPER MINIATURE GNATS compared to the giant of the Earth's core. It's a mini-sun, that interacts on a CONSTANT basis with the REALLY REALLY BIG SUN in the sky, mkay?
There's a constant friction between where those two forces meet and it happens to be the bullshit tardo chaos you see on the SURFACE right now (or, ever).
The surface is so minuscule compared to all the other planetary mass, and all it takes to correct any of it is plate movement. Above, below, doesn't matter... shift some plates around and it's kaput.
I'm just saying... there's not a problem here. To the ABSOLUTELY FINITE human life that inhabits the ultra volatile surface, yeah, it's life or death pretty much every minute of the day, lol. But to the Earth ITSELF? It's a blink of an eye in the span of its life and I promise it just ain't the worst there's ever been either.
