I'm starting to have these experiences where I get annoyed with youngsters who just now discovered shit that happened like 500 million years ago and are acting like it's new.
Not saying the circumstances weren't sus and that Jim Carrey didn't screw the pooch in this situation but... yeah.
Like when this happened back a billion years ago on another planet far away, it was essentially concluded that his GF went all crazy because he gave her STDs. She was too young/inexperienced and he shouldn't have even been involved with her in the first place. Typical gross old guy shit.
But I don't fault Jim in this situation because while it is sad when you have to face gnarly consequences from being involved in interpersonal relationships, it's just part of life. You have to learn to handle it and survive. It's hard, and sometimes it requires seeking help from mental health professionals, but it's never anything to kill yourself over. To suggest it would be is totally unreasonable and there's a mental problem that needs addressing when someone reacts that way.
