And it's not even really that it came close to outrightly sucking that one time, it just sort of bordered on being too unrealistic. There's a difference.
Dud episodes are unfortunate, but incredibly rare in this show... a dud episode doesn't ruin the whole series and spell doom.
It seems like they've figured out how to make the show continually engaging, super high quality, worthy of being invested in... I think they'd have to try on purpose to fuck it up at this point. And I'm sure they could. I've read some things in a few articles that concerned me regarding the later seasons.
Obviously the final season without Kitty presents the possibility for the show to take a huge dump. But I'm not gonna assume that it will. I don't see how it couldn't. I'm holding out the hope that with her character gone, they tried really damn fucking hard to go above and beyond in all other aspects. That's always what they seem to do when things are even remotely unsteady.
I'm gonna call out the first signs of suck when/if I see them. And I've got a list of good and bad things to say about it in epilogue when I've finished my analysis.
I wouldn't call any of it grievances, but I do have some things to say. I don't want to address any of it now because it's not appropriate at this juncture of the study.
