I wonder if Jergens used to be more popular and guys just saw it in their mom/girlfriend's bathroom and were like "This'll do."

Jergens was immensely popular back in the day. Jergens and Vaseline Intensive Care were pretty much the only two well-known brands. Everyone had one or the other in their bathroom. I’d never heard of Aveeno until maybe the late 80s or early 90s.
