Ha--the sneezing came right after he said "we won't ever get generalized artificial intelligence with the computing structures we have now." Hopefully it wasn't caused by AI nanobots in his nose, as I like to believe his skepticism regarding AI... he expounded on it in another substack recently, I forget which one. Basically saying that AI is just a program and it can't have a will of its own, as it lacks the hormone based motivation systems that drive and animate biological organisms. It does only what the code instructs, which in the absence of any other task, is to just basically sleep. It can't be sentient, it can only execute code. I say this as someone who knows little about sentience and nothing about code, so I defer to Clif in this matter as it's more comforting than thinking that robots will eventually come to life and kill us.
