It'd be nice to think the survivors would form cooperatives and try to rebuild civilization. But it'll more likely be some Mad Max shit where us girls will be sex toys for a bunch of greasy brutes.
That's what the gulags in the USSR were like. Basically a country within a country. The camps were too far from Moscow for the government to have much influence. The officers and guards could do anything they liked.
