If there were a lot of active members on this forum and the PM system was enabled, they'd be able to PM each other.
In my opinion, facilitating private communication on that level is dangerous and unwise.
I don't want anyone saying anything on my website that isn't public, and the people who have access to instant posting are people I trust (at least somewhat).
It is extremely unwise to operate a message board community where just any ol' weirdo can submit a post without any moderation required beforehand.
If there is a registered member posting here, it means that I trust them AT LEAST ENOUGH to allow them access to instant posting which is not moderated by me beforehand.
If someone fucks up in some way (in my book, which is all that matters on my site), they lose access to instant posting.
So yeah, you fucked up, you continue to fuck up, you'll never be trustworthy, and that is why you are not a member.
