These forums are all sort of their own time capsules that preserve a certain way of life (on the internet) and they're different from any other kind of site.
Twitter, Fakebook, none of the sorry internet ghettos come close to being as cool as even the most boring message board that ever existed.
Yeah, only Reddit compares. But it is for sure overrun by algorithm manipulation now. I got into forums about 5-10 years ago, so not that much experience with them. I would only read them back then too.
