If they've discovered one of these holes in the ocean, there are probably at least 10 more currently active.
It all has to do with the Ring of Fire and the fact that the next Earth expansion will originate from that area...

You can look to the sun's activity to discern whether there are going to be any events planet-side related to expansion.
Everyone here knows that the sun sets off all the changes which take place on Earth due to solar interaction with the planet's core.
So whenever anything major happens with the sun, we know that the core will react in kind, and we will see its effects on the planet.
I expect the height of this solar mini-cycle (now to 2025) to be very pleasing.
