I really hope the creative outlet afforded by the piano will help her. There were signs, in hindsight, that she was getting into a mood. That was the main reason I invited her to come visit once I get set up in my new place.
The process has been painstakingly slow. I messed up my credit and finances pretty bad after I got laid off from the newspaper. I have a Section 8 voucher, but I still have to pass a credit check before most property management companies will rent to me. I've been declined by one complex, even though I paid off the past debt that supposedly caused me to get denied.
I was approved by one complex a couple of months ago. My Social Security benefits finally came through at about the same time. My social worker decided that since I now had an income, he'd try to get someone with no income into that apartment and find me another one. That was pretty dumb in hindsight. Throwing away a bird in hand for one in the bush. That really shouldn't have been his call to make. If I hadn't been down due to chemo and radiation at the time, I might've pushed back.
