So if there were no electricity and no wiring within houses, there would be no danger from a Carrington-like solar event.
But because there's electrical wiring in all the houses and buildings these days, hooked up to all the devices, with wiring in the walls etc., a lot of structures would be catching on fire.
In fact, you'd have to take great care to get out of your house because if you even touched an electrical device, or stepped on a wire running along the floor, it would probably kill you.
TBH, with so many electrical devices hooked up in an average home/building, you may not even have to touch anything.
This is by far the worst aspect of the whole 9 yards.
You'd want to get out of any type of wired building immediately, but who knows if you'd even make it out.
There will be shitloads of fires from this, tons of electrocutions...
Too bad. A lot of the advancements that we enjoy every day are really just dangerous, and that's about it.
