I figured out the fix. You basically just buy the cheapest possible brand name printer with literally no special functions... like maybe not even a scanner because one of your 5 other printers' scanner still works fine.
It's all the touch screens and WiFi bullshit and all the other nonsense that causes the more uppity printers to fail.
