You don't say.
So they lost comms at 1:45:00 into the descent. Blink of an eye indeed with the pressure at that depth... ~12k feet.
There are a lot of great ways to see Newfoundland, and that sure the fuck ain't one of them. Why didn't they just go to the Titanic museum at the Johnson Geo Centre? Or hit up the Cape Race Lighthouse to visit the place where the first SOS signal from the Titanic was received? Or go over to Fairview Lawn Cemetery in Halifax, NS to visit the graves of over 100 of Titanic's passengers? Just not creepy enough for them I guess.
Gee, what fun.
So apparently the whole underwater segment was supposed to last ~8 hours.
They're already in a bad way if they're even still alive at this point. Over 24 hours, one sammich and one bottle of water? Sigh... toilet probably doesn't even empty anywhere. I'm guessing they're dead, and that's probably preferable to whatever they'd be dealing with if they were alive in that situation.
It's really pretty grim. If they didn't implode and they really are that far under there, they can't be rescued for a plethora of reasons anyway. Best case scenario, they're floating and found within the next ~60 hours.

Once the submersible is launched you will begin to see alienlike lifeforms whizz by the viewport as you sink deeper and deeper into the ocean.

Quote:Day 8 St. John's - Newfoundland - Canada
Signal Hill is the first thing you'll see as we motor in to St. John's. Take a moment to reflect on all that you have accomplished – you're one of less than 300 people in history who have dove to the world's most famous shipwreck.

Quote:We do recommend that you restrict your diet before and during the dive to reduce the likelihood that you will need to use the facilities.

Quote:Enjoy hours of exploring the wreck and debris field before making the two-hour ascent to the surface.
