The carports and barns actually have the exact same design. I barn just has walls. They are both post structures.
I set a bucket out with water in it, and peanut butter on the inside walls. That drowns the evil little mice.
I also cleared more of my property of all bushes. I'm going to get a hoe (the tool kind) and turn over the soil. Then I can just walk around and hard pack it. That makes the rodents easy prey for the birds. You want a barren, "mars like" property.
I am also going to mix flour and baking soda, which kills the mice very effectively by exploding their stomachs. These trap and poison combos are better than most commercial ones.
