The banging sounds supposedly detected by the sonar are a lot more plausible if they got snagged after they lost comms and couldn't get free from whatever they were trapped in.
With the doubts that Aaron guy raised around the air system... it seems like they may have gotten stuck down there and ran out of oxygen way before the 96 hours we keep hearing about.
It seems totally possible that they detected the banging on the sonar, but never had eyes on the sub because there aren't even any subs that can get down that fucking far.
I just never considered those possibilities because I was sold on the likelihood of implosion.
Needless to say, OceanGate is never gonna be operating again. I hope the families can sue the shit out of them somehow, because wow.
