Yeah, I've heard a lot of interviewed 'experts' talking about listening for the survivors banging on the craft for help, but I just thought it seemed ridiculous.
If you were in a sub that is made of material known for "shattering like a porcelain plate", I'd think the last thing you'd wanna do is bang on it real hard with an object...
Especially if it's underwater and therefore amidst immense pressure.
If it's on the surface though, that's a whole other matter.
