If there are advanced forms of tech navigating the oceans, and TPTB don't want anyone knowing about it...
Somebody like Stockton Rush could have been a threat to that secrecy.
Think about it...
There is no one spearheading the exploration of the ocean like there is with space...
There's no "Elon Musk" of the deep.
This underfunded Stockton guy was the only one really doing anything like this...
It was HIS operation, just like SpaceX is Elon's.
