They traffic kids and use them for a variety of purposes, including as bait to bring in more victims. They even use women for bait... usually a woman will be used in a "trustworthy" position, to bait in other females. They may also be used to bait in men who are hoping for sexual activity. There was a good video from a girl who met with one of these "trusted" female trafficking bait fixtures...

This has been going on for a very long time, but obviously it's getting a lot worse and way more common.

Kids and women are the biggest bait being used by traffickers, but I suspect they'll start using animals too.
