Help me with this song

When I was like five years old, there was a song on the radio all the time that I liked. I remembered it for years and years, until the Internet came along and I finally had a chance to look it up.

But every trace of it had vanished from my memory by then. I've gone through the top 100 songs for every year around that time, but no luck. How could a song be on the radio all the damned time and not even chart?

I did eventually find "Sweet Baby" by George Duke and Stanley Clarke, which I had always thought was Earth, Wind & Fire on account of the falsetto.
