I've had a thought that gives me pause, and it came to me after looking into the "purpose" of the tortoise.
Apparently their function is scavenging to disperse seeds and spores, and they build up a large amount of calcium that disperses into the environment after their ~200 year lifespan concludes.
I was like wow, that is fucking amazing. It's like the Earth has grown all these different lifeforms on its surface to serve all these different needs within the grand ecosystem.
Then I thought about humanity. I've always figured humanity is the product of a splice between a monkey and an alien because they're just so different from all the other animals...
But what if Earth really did come up with us on its own?
What does purpose does the human animal serve?
Man-made yadda yadda, pollution and "climate change"... we're blamed for fucking things up, but what if we're doing everything Earth intended for us to do?
