Forgot to mention, there's no local TNR program. THAT'S why this situation is so bad.
ANY animal taken to the local shelter will be euthanized. Words from the lady I spoke
to on the phone Saturday. They are not taking pet surrenders either. So options for
helping these kitties aren't numerous. Hence, my extreme difficulty with it all.
And TNR wouldn't work cuz they'd still be here, shitting "alllll over" trash bitch's yard.
See, the origin of this feral colony happened years ago, before I was ever here.
A house across the street and down two doors, they had about 50 cats. They moved.
They didn't take ANY of the cats with them. So there's the problem. I didn't bring
these cats here. I inherited them. I've only ever done what I could to help them to
not die a slow, painful death. I've always felt this was on the county, not me.
And, it's a bit fucked up the way it works --
"Bring in ferals for spaying/neutering, small fee, done!"
BUT ALSO
"This cat is too feral to work on."
It just can't be fucking done. I don't think they want it done.
